We have trawled through countless hours of video tape and studied thousands of races to ensure we bring you the best, most pulsating, action from a golden decade when many tracks were still flourishing and new venues were still springing up.

Thankfully, the 80s heralded the dawn of the video age, when most domestic meetings were filmed by local companies who then sold cassette tapes on to fans eager to preserve their memories of days and nights spent cheering from the stands and terraces. Screensport, a new and short-lived satellite television channel, sent cameras to National League tracks for their ‘Match of the Week’, while ITV and their acclaimed commentator Dave Lanning stayed around until World of Sport got the chop in 1985.

This DVD takes you on an evocative journey, revisiting many now sadly defunct tracks that were once part of the fabric of British speedway. While enjoying the footage, take the opportunity to reminisce about watching your heroes at Belle Vue, Arena-Essex, Berwick, Boston, Bradford, Canterbury, Coventry, Cradley Heath, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hackney, Ipswich, King’s Lynn, Leicester, Long Eaton, Middlesbrough, Mildenhall, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Poole, Reading, Rye House, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, White City and Wimbledon. We bring you sizzling, no-holds barred action from all those places.
